Network expansion and service expectations
BPJS Kesehatan President Director Prihati Pujowaskito announced the projected network total at a meeting on expanding FKRTL partnerships in Jakarta, Bisnis.com reported. Of the 66 new partners, 14 are government-owned facilities and 52 are privately owned.
Abdi Kurniawan Purba, BPJS Kesehatan's director of health service guarantee, said he hoped the new partners would deliver high-quality, professional care without discrimination to participants in the national health insurance program, JKN, according to ANTARA.
Privately owned facilities account for more than 65% of BPJS Kesehatan's FKRTL partners overall. The agency said that share reflects strong private-sector interest in working with JKN.
Facility reviews and hospital payments
Every facility undergoes a credentialing review before entering or renewing a partnership, BPJS Kesehatan said. Health offices and facility associations take part alongside the agency to provide objective assessments.
BPJS Kesehatan also reported paying hospitals more than Rp1,279 trillion between 2014 and 2025. In 2025, hospital claims were paid an average of 13.6 calendar days after the documents were declared complete; the regulatory limit is 15 calendar days.
Rights-based coverage and service planning
Prihati described BPJS Kesehatan as a rights-based insurer, contrasting it with risk-based private insurance. He cited Law No. 40 of 2004 on the National Social Security System (SJSN) and Law No. 24 of 2011 on BPJS.
He said the agency plans to use geospatial data to monitor service waiting queues and align service capacity with the planned Rujukan Berbasis Kemampuan Pelayanan (RBKP) policy.
