Attribution. Facts, figures and quotes drawn from another outlet's original reporting are credited to that outlet, with a link where possible. We never present someone else's exclusive as our own work.
Fairness to the people we write about. Anyone facing a significant negative allegation in our coverage is, wherever practically possible, given a chance to respond before we publish, and their response — if they give one — is represented fairly, not buried or cherry-picked.
No fabrication, ever. We do not invent quotes, sources, statistics, or events, under any circumstances. This is a non-negotiable editorial commitment that applies to everything published under the IndoView name.
Editorial independence from commercial interest. Coverage decisions are never for sale and are never shaped by advertisers, sponsors, or partners. Anything paid for is labelled as such, without exception — see Advertising.
Care with sensitive material. For crime, tragedy, conflict, and stories involving vulnerable people (including minors), we weigh the public interest in publishing against the potential for harm, and we leave out identifying detail that doesn't serve a genuine public-interest purpose.
Respect for context. Our coverage is produced with awareness of the cultural and political sensitivities of the places we report on and from, and we take care not to publish unfounded rumours or unsubstantiated defamatory claims.
Conflicts of interest. Our editorial staff disclose personal, financial, or organisational conflicts of interest connected to stories they're working on and step back from coverage where a conflict can't be properly managed.
